Defeat is not an Option
Deuteronomy 20:3-4 And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’
I Cor. 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom. 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Our prayer and declaration:
Defeat is not an option. I may have to go around the mountain again, perhaps more than once. I will sometimes fail in the little things along the way. I might head out in my own strength without realizing it, but He will check me before too much damage can be done.
God doesn’t fail. When I am engaged in God’s plan working through me, the plan is a victorious one. He does not fail, and in fact, cannot fail.
I expect opposition, but His grace and wisdom are all I need. I will have to stay sensitive to His leading and there will likely be mid-course corrections. My human weaknesses will occasionally slow things down, but He has already taken that into account! He knew my weaknesses and where the failures would be before He gave the command.
I will obey, He will guide, and defeat is not an option.
